Johnson County MED-ACT provides all Emergency Medical Services to over 600,000 citizens residing within Johnson County Kansas. MED-ACT is an Advanced Life Support based system that employs Kansas State certified paramedics under the direction of the Johnson County Medical Director. MED-ACT also provides medical coverage for scheduled events for a fee. Events that are usually covered by the department include 5ks, marathons, duathlons, triathlons, parades, sporting events, fairs, and community festivals.
In order to satisfy the appropriate coverage needed to maintain a safe environment during these events, MED-ACT can deploy several different methods of coverage. Types of medical coverage include single paramedics, Bicycle medics, ATV deployment and fully staffed transport ambulances.
If you would like to request coverage for your special event, please click the link below and fill out the Special Event Request Form. After filling in the requested information, click submit and your request will be sent to Johnson County MED-ACT. Johnson County MED-ACT will notify you via the contact info provided, and inform you if your event has been approved for coverage. MED-ACT will also choose the type of coverage that will be provided.
To successfully staff your event, Johnson County MED-ACT needs to be notified of your request a minimum of TWO WEEKS prior to the event date. Johnson County MED-ACT reserves the right to decline event coverage.
