AAA Classes and Events

The Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is committed to helping older adults stay connected and engaged through informational sessions and educational classes designed to reduce social isolation. AAA offers diverse programs designed to allow older adults to engage in stimulating activities, learn new skills, and connect with like-minded individuals, in collaboration with local partners such as K-State Research and Extension, Johnson County Library, and Johnson County Park and Recreation. Previous programs have included water color painting, container gardening, genealogy workshops, cooking classes, bird watching, a book club, and a caregiver support event.

Celebrating Older American's Month
Each May, AAA joins the nation in celebrating Older Americans Month (OAM), a tradition established in 1963 and led by the Administration for Community Living. OAM honors the contributions of older adults, raises awareness of aging-related issues, and reinforces the commitment to supporting seniors in our community. To mark this occasion, AAA hosts a series of weekly classes throughout May, providing opportunities for learning, connection, and celebration. Check back soon to learn how AAA celebrates Older Americans Month this year.
