Food Pantry

Older female adult stocking the shelf at a food pantry.

Johnson County Aging and Human Services is dedicated to supporting vulnerable residents through a variety of essential programs. Access to food has been a top priority, ensuring that low-income individuals and families do not go hungry. As the community has grown, AHS has adapted. Today, AHS operates three food pantries located in Gardner, Lenexa, and Mission. These pantries provide supplemental food and hygiene products, helping families stretch their budgets to cover other critical needs like medication, housing, childcare, and transportation.

Help us keep our shelves stocked

For the past 50 years, our shelves have been filled thanks to the incredible generosity of our community. Food drives organized by local schools, faith-based groups, and caring individuals have played a vital role in supporting our pantries. However, times have changed. With rising food costs and shifts in the economy, donations have significantly decreased. Since the pandemic, the demand for food assistance has surged but contributions have not kept pace. We need your help now more than ever.

You can make a meaningful impact in one of the following ways:

  • Shop our Amazon Wish List to send food items directly to our shelves
  • Make a monetary donation to support our food programs
  • Host a food drive or place a public food collection barrel at your office, church, or community organization
