JoCo Museum plans special holiday display
The Johnson County Museum’s popular Christmas display inside the All-Electric House is returning this year with a homemade twist.
The “Home for the Holidays at the All-Electric House” exhibit will open Nov. 22 and will be on display through Jan. 3. The theme for this exhibit is “homemade.”
The exhibit will include a display of large wooden cutouts in the front yard of the museum’s All-Electric House from a 1950s “Popular Mechanic’s” article for a do-it-yourself Christmas display.
The All-Electric House will also be decorated with Christmas lights, an aluminum Christmas tree and homemade items like tree skirts, stockings and other items from the museum’s collections.
The museum is located in the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Entrance to the museum is $6 for adults; $5 seniors (ages 60 plus), students and military; $4 for children; and free for museum members.
