Things will be different this fall and winter, but the 50 Plus Program of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District has found new ways to celebrate old favorites.
The day after Veterans Day, Haley Sheriff, learning coordinator for the National World War I Museum and Memorial will present a virtual program to learn about the Great War and the national landmark in the heart of Kansas City. The free virtual program will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 12 via Zoom.
Residents are invited to spend an afternoon at the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall – Prairie Village, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at a socially distanced event, featuring the sampling pies and ciders. Cost is $8 for residents and $9 for nonresidents.
The annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration will allow the opportunity to ring in 2021 from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 31 via Zoom.
While the event is taking place virtually, there is an option to pick up lunches and a party pack at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Drive before the Zoom celebration begins.
Cost is $5 per person with the lunch and party pack available for an additional $15.
