Museum plans new exhibit about trains

Trains Opening at Johnson County Museum

Johnson County Museum's new exhibit remains on track to open May 13 at the Arts & Heritage Building 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.

The exhibit on "Trains: Transportation and the Transformation of Johnson County" details how trains transformed Johnson County’s natural landscape, businesses, agriculture, resident populations, and influenced where towns grew or dwindled. Visitors will learn about the county’s long history with the railroad and just how much was riding on those rails.

Regular museum admission includes viewing the exhibit. Costs are $6 adults, $5 seniors and $4 children.
