Nominations being accepted for Peg Deaton Award

The Peg Deaton Leadership in Aging Award is an annual recognition presented by the Johnson County Commission on Aging.

The award honors individuals or organizations that have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families in Johnson County. It is named in honor of Peg Deaton, a dedicated advocate for aging services in the community.

The COA is seeking candidates for the 2025 Peg Deaton Leadership in Aging Award.

“There are many individuals and organizations supporting our older adults in Johnson County. We can only choose one for the Peg Deaton Award, but the others are truly valued and appreciated,” said Becky Parrott, COA member and chair of the Peg Deaton Award Committee.

Nominations for the award are accepted through Sept. 30, 2025. The award will be presented in the fall, and the nomination process is open to all community members. Nomination forms can be submitted online at jocogogov.org/agingservices. Residents without internet access can request a nomination form by calling the Area Agency on Aging at 913-715-8860.
