50 Plus takes to the road on summer trips
The 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District is on the road this summer to explore arts, culture and wildlife.
July and August travel opportunities include:
- “Explore the Wild, Conquer the Skies.” Discover wildlife at the Topeka Zoo then explore aviation history at the Combat Air Museum, featuring military aircraft, artifacts and exhibits for an adventure-packed day! Tuesday, July 1. $124/$136 nonresidents. Lunch included. Motorcoach transport. Moderate walking is to be expected.
- “Trailblazers & Masterpieces.” Explore Council Grove’s Santa Fe Trail history with a docent-led tour, then experience art in a new light at Manhattan’s Museum of Art + Light! Wednesday, July 9. $149/$164 nonresidents. Lunch included. Motorcoach transport. Moderate walking is to be expected.
- "Wonders of Wildlife.” Explore Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, Mo., with exhibits, aquariums and a stop at Osceola Cheese for a tasty selection of more than 275 cheese varieties and local treats. Thursday, Aug. 7. $149/$164 nonresidents. Lunch not included. Motorcoach transport. Moderate walking is to be expected.
