Oct. 12, last day to register to vote, update voter registration

The voter registration deadline for November’s general election is Tuesday. It’s the last day for voters to register to vote or update their voter registration before voting begins.

Voter registration applications are available on the Johnson County Election Office’s website at jocoelection.org/registration. Voters who will be 18 years old by Election Day can register to vote now.

Voters who are already registered to vote can check their voter registration at voter.jocoelection.org to make sure their name and address are up to date.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2, but there are other important election dates ahead in October:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 12 – Last day to register to vote or update voter registration information
  • Wednesday, Oct. 13 – Advance voting by mail begins
  • Saturday, Oct. 23 – Advance voting in person begins at eight locations
  • Tuesday, Oct. 26 – Last day to apply to vote by mail
  • Tuesday, Nov. 2 – Election Day (polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

November’s general election is a local election, which means city, school district, community college, and other local offices will be on the ballot. Voters can review their sample ballot at voter.jocoelection.org.
