On Monday, June 7, Johnson County Mental Health Center will host the second annual National Co-Responder Conference, in Olathe. The conference, held in Olathe, will include nearly 300 law enforcement officers, mental health professionals and other first responders from 22 states.
This year’s theme, The Right Response, will address the effectiveness of mental health professionals working along first responders on calls involving behavioral health concerns. Rep. Sharice Davids will provide opening remarks. Keynote speakers include Howard Nathaniel Lee, a former North Carolina mayor whose major projects include the first police social worker initiative; The Billions Institute Managing Director Becky Margiotta; and JCMHC Director Tim DeWeese.
