COVID-19 emergency order for Johnson County now in effect

At 12:01 a.m., today, Nov. 16, the Johnson County public health order went into effect.

Some of the more significant actions approved the Board of County Commissioners, sitting as the Board of Public Health, on Friday, Nov. 13, include:

  • Maintain six feet of physical distance from others unless you reside together, unless you reside together (with certain exceptions).
  • Mass gatherings limited to 50 individuals, whether indoors/outdoors or 50% of business capacity (with exceptions).
  • Restaurants must close in-person dining by midnight.
  • Recreation/youth sports and practices may occur, but attendance is limited to two per participant.

As the order indicates, exceptions to the mass gathering limits require submittal of a plan addressing public safety. Those plans should be sent to [email protected].
