Safety precautions for Election Day today

It's Election Day, and 167 polling locations will be open in Johnson County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters can find their polling location and view their sample ballot on the Johnson County Election Office website at voter.jocoelection.org.

The Election Office has taken a number of safety precautions to protect voters and election workers on Election Day. Masks are encouraged but are not required to vote.

A record-setting 106,000+ Johnson County voters applied to vote by mail. Voters can also return their mail ballots to any polling location or the 24-hour, drive-thru ballot boxes at the Election Office (2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe).

Ballots must be returned by 7 p.m.

Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by 7 p.m. and received by the Election Office by Friday, Aug. 7.
