“Voters in Johnson County are used to having three ways to vote, and that includes in-person advance voting,” said Johnson County Election Commissioner Connie Schmidt. “As we’ve navigated the impact of COVID-19 on this year’s elections, our top priority has been keeping voters and election workers safe and healthy while preserving those three voting options.”

The Johnson County Election Office has taken the following safety precautions to protect voters and election workers at the seven advance voting locations:

  • Physical distancing between voters, election workers and voting equipment
  • Plexiglass shields to separate voters and election workers during the check-in process
  • Personal protective equipment provided to election workers
  • Sanitation supplies available to clean voting booths and equipment
  • Masks and hand sanitizer available to voters
  • Single-use pen or stylus for marking paper ballots or touchscreen voting equipment
  • Additional signage to help voters navigate the advance voting location safely
