Today the Board of County Commissioners resumed meeting in the Hearing Room. The board took the following actions related to COVID-19:
- Voted that Johnson County will now follow the voluntary recommendations and guidance in the state’s Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas. This includes the following precautionary measures: washing your hands, staying at home if you are sick, physical distancing from others, and wearing a mask when out in public.
- Approved the reallocation and expenditure of fund balance (reserves) for FY 2020 for the County General Fund in an amount not to exceed $4,154,405 for the request from the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, creating six full-time positions, 35 part-time positions, and providing funding to continue testing for COVID-19 and other related programmatic expenses.
In addition, Deputy County Manager Maury Thompson gave a weekly COVID-19 Operating Report, detailing COVID-19 specific expenditures and funding, which is available here.
