BOCC addresses COVID-19 response during meeting

The Board of County Commissioners received the following updates Thursday related to COVID-19:

• Weekly COVID-19 Operating Report, detailing COVID-19-specific expenditures and funding received
• Status of the reopening plans for Johnson County Library and Johnson County Park & Recreation District
• The latest health data and an update on some of our long-term care facility outbreaks.

The board authorized an emergency exception to competition and increased in the amount of $200,000 to the agreement with Eurofin Viracor, Incorporated for COVID-19 testing supplies and processing services for a contract total amount not to exceed $350,000 in FY 2020.

Next week, the board will consider a request from Johnson County Department of Health and Environment for $4,154,405 for FY 2020 to continue effective disease investigation and containment activities and provide essential epidemiology services to the community.
