Cedar Niles Park groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 1

A public groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s future Cedar Niles Park in Olathe will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 25780 W. 135th St. in Olathe. 

Three vehicular access points, including the 135th Street site of the groundbreaking, and one bike access point are planned for the park. At the 135th Street location, there are also plans for a playground, shelter and a three-season restroom. 

Construction of the first phase of development of Cedar Niles Park will focus on about four miles of paved multi-use trails, mostly along Cedar and Little Cedar creeks.
