There is hope in recovery

Are you in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorders or do you care for someone who is? If so, you may want to consider joining the Johnson County Mental Health Center for its Second Annual Recovery Conference on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Cleveland University (10820 Lowell Ave, Overland Park, KS) from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The conference is a Johnson County community event focused on providing education, resources and hope to individuals on their journey to recovery or maintaining recovery, and to those who support them. 

The morning session will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Michelle Robin who is a chiropractor, author, teacher, holistic healer, podcast host and founder of Your Wellness Connection.

“In order for us to make the greatest impact, we must look at our mechanical, chemical, energetic and psychospiritual health. A whole person approach is needed for us to come together as a community and enact generational change,” Robin said.

In the afternoon, the keynote speaker, Stephanie Tillman, a storyteller, graphic designer, creator and connector will share the importance of individuals telling their stories as a part of recovery.

The Recovery Conference is FREE and includes a free lunch and snacks for every attendee. Space is limited the first 200 people.
