July 17 is voter registration deadline

Tuesday, July 17, is the voter registration deadline for those wishing to vote in the Aug. 7 primary election. Residents can check their registration or register for the first time with the Johnson County Election Office.

The primary election will place on Tuesday, Aug. 7 with advanced voting taking place Monday, July 23 through Saturday, Aug. 4. Advanced voting for primary election will take place at six locations in Johnson County:

  1. Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center
  2. Hilltop Conference Center
  3. Johnson County Northeast Offices
  4. Johnson County Sunset Office Building, Room 1055
  5. Monticello Trails Middle School
  6. Election Office

Voting hours for the first five locations:
Mon-Fri 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Closed on Monday, Aug. 6

Voting hours for Election Office:
Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-7 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 6 – 8 a.m. to noon

Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7. Voters should remember that a government-issued photo identification card is required to vote.
