The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office is promoting consumer education during National Consumer Protection Week, March 4-10.
During NCPW, the District Attorney’s Consumer Protection Division will provide daily educational tips via its Twitter and Facebook sites. They will also share information and answer questions at the Johnson County Courthouse in Olathe on Thursday, March 8 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and at the Johnson County Community College in Overland Park on Tuesday, March 27 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
“The vast reaches of social media and technology in our lives can also serve as an avenue for cons and criminals to take advantage of us,” says District Attorney Steve Howe. “We hope to provide some tips on how to reduce your likelihood of being a victim of a scam or criminal enterprise.”
