What's happening with King Louie?

Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center

The Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center is on its way!

Work to transform the former King Louie building into the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center is officially underway. The JCAHC will open in 2017 as a new destination for celebrating the arts and our history in Johnson County. It will be home to The Theatre in the Park productions during spring, summer and fall, the Johnson County Museum and so much more. Read all about the exciting features of the new JCAHC facility in the cover story of the Winter 2016 JOCO Magazine.

Project partners including the city of Overland Park, the Overland Park Historical Society and other involved community organizations joined Johnson County Government, Johnson County Museum and Johnson County Park & Recreation district for a construction kickoff earlier this month. Together these partners celebrated both the past and the future for this iconic building. You can view a brief video of that celebration here.

What's next? As the project gets underway and we have construction updates and announcements about programs that will be offered at JCAHC, we will share them with you. If you have questions, please send them to communications@jocogov.org
