Coffee with Johnson County legislators

team making small talk during coffee break

Johnson County Library’s popular Legislative Coffees series starts Saturday, Feb. 24. You can discover what’s percolating in the Kansas Legislature. Representatives and Senators in Johnson County will discuss with constituents the new legislative session, including their committee assignments, current bills, and upcoming legislation, followed by Q&A. You bring the questions and we’ll provide the coffee and doughnuts.

Monday is Presidents Day

Monday, Feb. 19 is the national holiday known as Presidents Day. Originally, a day to honor the birthday of country’s first president, George Washington, it was later combined to also recognize the birthday of 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.  Now, it serves to honor all persons who have served as the U.S. President.

The Johnson County Courthouse will be closed in observance of President Day. Other county offices and services are open on this Monday.
