Johnson County Extension co-sponsoring Family Fun Night

Bring the family to the Farm-to-Table Family Fun Night this Thursday at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site. The event is co-sponsored by Johnson County K-State Research and Extension and the Johnson County Farm Bureau. Enjoy oxen training and chuckwagon cooking demonstrations, stagecoach rides, and free "breakfast for dinner" by Chris Cakes for the first 200 visitors!

BOCC recognizes Vanya Shivashankar

The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) recognized 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee co-champion Vanya Shivashankar at today’s regular business session. Chairman Ed Eilert presented Vanya with a Certificate of Special Commendation. Her sister Kavya, the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion, attended as well.
