Introduction
Johnson County Public Works led the way in establishing a county wide survey control network. Our network consists of 69 horizontal control points and 938 bench marks. All information on these control points is available on the AIMS link. We are in the process of establishing state plane coordinates on section corners, and where completed this information is available on this web site and is identified by a different color on the map. .

Location of all of our survey control is available on the AIMS link and shown on the county map when you select monuments or section corners under utility layers. A paper color copy of the survey control network is available at our office for $10.

We also maintain historical survey records and section corner reference reports. This information is available at our office at 1800 W. 56 Hwy in Olathe.

Current Activities:
Vertical Control:
Now, there are 938. This completes the densification of the vertical control network throughout the county.

Horizontal Control:  No current plans are underway to establish more horizontal control monuments

Section Corners:  We are working on establishing state plane coordinates on section corners in the area North of Edgerton and North of Olathe. Section corner reference reports are now available on the website.( AIMS link)
