Johnson County receives approximately $2,200,000 a year in federal matching dollars to use for road construction projects on federally designated routes.  The County is responsible for design, right-of-way, utility relocation, and a portion of the construction costs.  Currently, we are in the last of three phases for improving 175th Street from US 169 to US 69.

Phase I, 175th Street – Lackman road to Antioch Road: Construction complete.

Phase II, 175th Street – Antioch Road to US 69: Construction complete.

Phase III, 175th Street – US 169 to Lackman Road:  This project involves regarding the existing road to meet current geometric standards, adding shoulders, and installing turning lanes at major intersections.  Construction is scheduled to start in the summer of 2003 and complete in the fall of 2004.
