Outpatient counseling
services
are provided at the Mission and Olathe offices. People seek counseling
for many different reasons. Some of the most common reasons include
problems of anxiety, stress, depression or anger; difficulty in a relationship
with a spouse, parent or child; life changes such as death of a family
member or divorce; and issues related to parenting.
When you first call us, we conduct an initial consultation by phone.
You will talk with one of our professional staff members who will listen
to your concerns and learn some of the reasons why you are seeking help.
Based on this conversation, we will recommend one of our staff whose
expertise is most helpful for your particular concern. An appointment
can be scheduled at that time.
During the first appointment with the therapist you will be asked to
give more detailed information about your concerns. Based on this information,
you and the therapist will establish goals for treatment and develop
a treatment plan. It is expected that you will actively participate
in developing these plans.
You may participate in individual, group, family or couple counseling.
You may be referred by the therapist to participate in other center
services. The focus of therapy is to offer short term interventions
to resolve difficulties.
Outpatient medical services are provided by a team of psychiatrists
and nurses to those persons requiring medications or other medical support
as part of their treatment. Persons are referred for these services
by their primary treatment provider.
