Heritage Trust Fund

Thank you for your interest in the Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund. The Fund was established in 1991 by the Board of County Commissioners to recognize the importance of preserving the valuable heritage and history of Johnson County.
The Board of County Commissioners also appointed a seven-member review board to develop the policies and procedures for the Fund and to review applications submitted for funding.

2008 grant applications are currently being accepted. Application materials are provided below. The deadline for submitting 2008 applications is Monday, April 14 at 5:00 p.m. Organizations eligible to apply are governmental and not-for-profit organizations in Johnson County.

The revenue for the fund is derived from a one-cent increase in mortgage registration fee, passed by the Kansas Legislature in 1990. More in-depth information about the fund and its history is available in the following links.

If you have questions about the applications or the Fund, please contact Megan Laha, Senior Management Analyst, County Manager's Office. Ms. Laha serves as the fund administrator for the seven-member review board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Ms. Laha can be reached at megan.laha@jocogov.org or by phone at 913-715-0737.
