Thank you for your interest in the Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund. The Fund was established in 1991 by the Board of County Commissioners to recognize the importance of preserving the valuable heritage and history of Johnson County. The Board of County Commissioners also appointed a seven-member review board to develop the policies and procedures for the Fund and to review applications submitted for funding. 2009 grant applications are currently being accepted. Application materials are provided below. The deadline for submitting 2009 applications is Monday, April 13 at 5:00 p.m. Organizations eligible to apply are governmental and not-for-profit organizations in Johnson County. The revenue for the fund is derived from a one-cent increase in mortgage registration fee, passed by the Kansas Legislature in 1990. More in-depth information about the fund and its history is available in the following links. If you have additional questions about the Fund, please contact Kenneth Watt, Grants Manager, Budget and Financial Planning Department. Mr. Watt serves as the fund administrator for the seven-member review board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
