What are the business registration requirements in johnson county?

Business registration requirements depend upon where the home is located.

Each incorporated city in Johnson County has regulations peculiar to the specific incorporated  locale for business entities, including home based.  If the home is located within an unincorporated area, there is no registration, license, or permit requirements.  However, there are zoning regulations.  Zoning regulations can be found on our website: http://planning.jocogov.org/zoning.htm,   under Article 18, Section 5, on pages 18-2 though 18-4.

Offices for Realtors is one of the particular home occupations permitted. However, the owner would have to live in the home and, depending upon the size and zoning of the property, they can either have just family members as employees/assistants or may be able to have one employee/assistant who is not a family member.
