Homeschool History Adventures (Ages 7-13)

Enrichment: Homeschool History Adventures (Ages 7-13)

Unearth the treasure of our local history with the Johnson County Museum! Examine artifacts from our collection, explore the exhibit, and put your brains and hands to work with interactive projects, games, and activities in our museum classroom. These monthly sessions serve as an engaging supplement to your homeschool curriculum, and give students the opportunity to build both new friendships and a new appreciation for what came before us! Can be booked as field trips for other groups too!

1 - 2 hr. session - $6 per person, museum members receive a 20% discount - call (913) 831-3359 to register and claim discount.  (includes admission to the museum and KidScape; Regular admission prices apply for non-participating children and adults)

DEATILS:  LAMP OF FREEDOM - What price would you put on freedom? Step back to 1858 before the Civil War along the Kansas Territory and Missouri border with special guest storyteller Molly Postlewait! She performs as Georgette, a farm girl in her interactive “Lamp of Freedom” program, bringing to life the experience of slavery and the Underground Railroad in this area. Make local history connections with the museum’s exhibit and activities after the program
