Johnson County Department of Health and Environment will once again be offering 2nd Saturday of the month Household Hazardous collection events. The first event will be on Saturday, March 10th from 8-11:30am, and is by appointment only. Drop off appointments can be scheduled through our online scheduler. Saturday events will occur the 2nd Saturday of the month through October. These appointments are for residential drop-offs only and come at not cost, business waste is not accepted, see our business waste program for more info on business, school, and church waste disposal options. Electronic waste is not accepted during our Saturday events, however, Secure e-cycle will be open during our Satuday event hours of 8-11:30 and are located a short distance from our Household Hazardous Waste facility at: 3052 S. 24th St. in Kansas City, Kansas 66106. Charges apply for TVs, computer monitors, and towers only: TVs under 31" ($25), TVs over 31" ($35), CRT computer monitors ($10), LCD computer monitors ($5), and PC with data destruction ($5). Proshred will also be available for paper shredding and they charge $25 for the first box and $5 for each additional box. For other electronic waste recycling options go to our electronics page.
