Severe Weather Awareness Week 2016:
Johnson County will be participating in the 2016 Severe Weather Awareness Week (SWAW) along with the State of Kansas Division of Emergency Management and National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. SWAW runs from March 14-18 and includes a state-wide Tornado Drill Tuesday, March 15th at 1:30pm. IF the test is unable to be conudcted on the 15th, it will be rescheduled for Thursday, March 16th at 1:30pm. The siren activation for the state-wide tornado drill will be held in addition to the routine test of the sirens on the first Wednday of the month at 11:00am. In addition to the annual state-wide tornado drill on the 3rd, Johnson County will also be testing its mass notification system, NotifyJoCo at 10:00am on the 15th as well.
