The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services’ (KDADS) Senior Medicare Patrol will team up with the Johnson County Park & Recreation District October 19 to kick off Operation Red File at this year’s Live Well Age Well Expo (formerly known as Senior Fest).
Operation Red File is a program designed to help seniors keep their critical health information accessible if needed in an emergency.

“Anyone attending this kickoff event will be able to get a Red File. KDADS will have staff and sponsor volunteers on-site to help attendees fill out forms and answer questions to get them started using this life-saving program,” KDADS Secretary Tim Keck said.
Johnson County will be the 24th in the state to launch the initiative and more kickoff events are scheduled in the coming months.
If you or a loved one is interested in Operation Red File, or if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, contact KDADS Medicare Grants Director Irina Strakhova at 800-432-3535 for more information.
