Lower fares and expanded service for transit customers

Great news for transit riders! Beginning Jan. 4, fares on ten local Johnson County Transit bus routes will drop from $2.25 to $1.50 a trip, the same fare as MAX and other local KCATA, Unified Government Transit and IndeBus routes. A $50 31-Day Pass will also be valid for fares on local JCT bus routes. More details are available in this Kansas City Star article.

Also starting on Monday, the 107-7th Street/Parallel route serving the University of Kansas Medical Center area will be extended 3.5 miles south to the Mission Transit Center. The Mission stop, located at 5251 Johnson Drive, is a jumping off point for riders to transfer to six other routes branching out to the rest of Johnson County. This is great news for Johnson County residents who want better service to reach the University of Kansas Medical Center campus where parking is scarce, and Wyandotte County residents who want more service to reach thousands of jobs in Johnson County. You can learn more about this route expansion on the RideKC website.
