The Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning at Antioch Park to celebrate the placement of electric vehicle charging stations at seven Johnson County Park & Recreation District sites. The new charging stations have been installed at Heritage Park Marina, Heritage Park Golf Course, New Century Fieldhouse, Shawnee Mission Park Marina, Stoll Park and Tomahawk Hills Golf Course.
The charging stations are part of KCP&L’s Clean Charge Network, which intends to install 1,001 charging stations throughout the greater Kansas City area. Once all installations are complete, the Kansas City area will have more electric vehicle charging stations than any other U.S. city. More information about this initiative can be found on the utility company’s website: http://www.kcpl.com/CleanCharge.
