6th annual Cars in the Park scheduled for Saturday

From Model A's to modern and customized vehicles, JCPRD's annual Cars in the Park car show attracts an eclectic mix of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Part of the fun is seeing what area residents dust off and retrieve from their garages to display!

Stop by the Shawnee Mission Park marina parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m for the free car show. Judging will take place at noon with an award presentation at 1:30 p.m. The show will conclude with a cruise through Shawnee Mission Park at 2 p.m.

Admission for spectators is free and concessions will be available.

The car show is one of two major annual fundraisers for JCPRD’s Special Olympics and Special Populations programs. The proceeds from car entry fees go toward uniforms and transportation to events.

Vehicles can be registered through the day of the event. All participants must be registered and on-site by noon to be judged. The fee is $20 per vehicle until the day of the show when it increases to $25.

Shawnee Mission Park is located at 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee.
